Weekend Thanks; Days 4-6

I am little behind of my 30 days of thanks, so it's time to play catch up!

Day 4-Vacation Days from work & girlfriends
Last Friday, I was thankful for days off or vacation days from work. I feel like my life/schedule has been so crazy/busy since August, almost too busy really. Since I only too one big vacation this year (a 7-day cruise back in June) I had a week left over that I have spread out over every other Friday since October began. These Fridays off have seriously been life-savors, especially this past Friday.

Also last Friday, I was very thankful for my girlfriends, two in particular; Marina and Katie. I got a bribery e-mail from Marina early Friday saying that she would guarantee free hotel, mimosas, and bloody Mary’s if we would accompany her to a work event Saturday morning. So Friday evening around 7, we loaded up into Marina's car and headed to Austin. After several sketchy gas station stops and some lengthy jam sessions, we made it to Austin. We checked into our hotel and spent the rest of the evening on 6th street. It seriously felt like those random college road trips that we had back at A&M. Another cool part of the story is that in the midst of the T.U. vs. tech game weekend in Austin, we managed to meet two Aggie girls and hang with them rest of the night. After some A&M talk we found out one of the girls had actually been a freshman in Trevor's fish camp, Camp Pracht, SMALL FREAKIN WORLD! And even though we were all running on fumes the next day and we walked like 4 miles trying to get back to the hotel (don't ask) it was one of the most fun nights of 2011. Friday November 4th I am so incredibly thankful that GOD has blessed me with a job that allows me to recharge and rest. I also thank GOD for incredible girlfriends that make life fun, spontaneous, and beautiful.

Myself, Katie and Marina on 6th Street.

Day 5-Music
Saturday afternoon, after our morning at Marina's work function, we rushed back to Houston because we had a concert to get to, TAYLOR SWIFT! Marina, Heather, Ashley and I bought these tickets all the way back in February and the idea of finally getting to use them was almost too much excitement to handle! So around roles 7, 8, 8:30, after the less than stellar openers finished, the beautiful and incredibly talented Taylor Swift came on stage and performed one amazing show. I have never seen an artist thank her fans more than she did and the best part about that was you could tell she actually meant it. Her show ties with the Britney Spears/Nicki Minaj concert for favorite concert ever. Saturday, November 11th I am thankful for music; Music that can up lift us, that can grab tight of our soul and make us feel something inside, that makes us dance, or helps us through a difficult time. I am thankful that GOD has blessed the music entertainers with this gift so they may share it with the rest of the world.

Day 6-My bed & Sleep
I have always thought of myself as a person that doesn't need a ton of sleep to function. I also would like to think of myself as a morning person, but on this particular Sunday, there isn't much I wouldn't have done to stay in bed when that work alarm clock went off at 7:45 AM. Since Friday morning I had acquired about 8 hours of sleep total for the weekend (including that "extra" hour), so you can guess I was less than "energized" for work. As I struggled to maintain the "I love football!" persona that day, I realized this may be my body's way of telling me to slow the hell down. Driving home from work that day I felt the way I use to feel after back to back all-nighters in college. As soon as I walked in the door I changed clothes, crawled into bed and was asleep in a total of 5 minutes. Then and for the next 24 hours, I realized how much I really do love sleep and that my bed is the most perfect bed you could ever lay on.
Sunday, November 6th I thank the good LORD above for blessing me with a home and a bed. A wonderful bed where I can rest, sleep, dream and pray.

Stay tuned for Days 7-9.

Highs and Lows

Ladies and Gentleman, I give you how the past week has gone for me in the form of a graph.
Please ignore the whole wavelength, distance, ECT. markings, the graph is for visual purposes only.

Let's begin with last Thursday evening...

High Point- Oktoberfest for work=Super fun, lots of free food&alcohol, and dancing. It was so much better than last year when I went after only working here for 2 months and didn't really know anyone. This year was much better; having a group of work friends and my extremely personable date once again made it a very enjoyable night.
Me and my hott date!
work lunch buddy and friend

Low Point- Getting my hung over butt to work at 7AM on Friday. However, the random compliments on my dancing skills and how incredibly nice my date was (Trevor) made work not so difficult to get through. (That, and everyone else was just as hung-over if not worse)

Staying at Low Point- It took Trevor and me 4 hours to get to Aggieland on Friday night. It was totally our own fault but still, for Pete's sake (who the heck is Pete anyway?) College Station is only 84 miles from Houston!

High Point- Being in College Station Saturday morning already since the game started at 11. (Thanks Housewife Hotel)

Low Point- Having to change a flat tire on Cammy (My Camry) on Saturday morning when we went to go buy the precious Andre for "Dat Crew Tailgating". It's a game day tradition that the group drinks two bottles (as a group, not individually. We're not drunks!) of Andre on the way to the game. Very important stuff.

High Point- Watching the Aggies B.T.H.O. Baylor one last time, at home, in Kyle Field! WHOOP!
My shirt=awesomesauce. Myself, Heather L, and Marina tailgating pre-game.
Fightin' Texas Aggie band!
Gosh I love A&M. :)
White out game.
Low Point- Go back to HW Hotel to get our stuff before tailgating some more only to find out that Cammy had been towed. Thank you College Station for adding tow number three to my record in that town.

High Point- Boyfriend Paid for tow fee. :)

Low point- driving Cammy home on a spare tire, it's not the smallest doughnut tire, but definitely not the same shoe she is use to having.

High Point- (for Trevor and for my sanity) - Rangers win game 6 and are in the World Series.

Low Point- Not having Chanel home with us on Saturday night because it was too late to pick her up that night.

High Point-Waking up at home and not on an air mattress Sunday morning, we decide to make our own brunch and Poinsettias (champagne and fruit punch).

Low (but extremely funny) point- Only having 1/3 of a bottle of champagne after Trevor soaked down my carpet, couch pillows, part of the TV., and the path all the way to the kitchen with Champagne when he went to open it. His face was priceless. Once we realized all the electronics were safe we laughed for a good 5 minutes.

High Point- Having a really (rare) relaxing Sunday that involved movies, football, getting our daughter back, and sushi that night.

As for the work week so far, we have pretty much gone back to normal...
(again ignore headers and lables please)
steadily rising as each day passes bringing up closer to another, what is sure to be, memorable weekend. Friends in from out of town, bridesmaid dress shopping, one of the best friend's baby shower (holy mother of pearl my friends are starting to have babies???) and a birthday celebration at Pete's Piano Bar downtown, BRING.IT.ON.

It also doesn't hurt that today is my Friday. :)

Happy Thursday dolls.

Confession time...

Okay so I have a slight obsession with weddings. Luckily not only do I get to attend four weddings between now and next November I get the wonderful privilege to be in two of them. My friend Heather L is marrying her long time sweetie of seven years ,Michael, in February of 2012, and I will be playing MOH. (Maid on Honor). Also in November of 2012, another Heather, Heather C. is marrying her college bf and I am a bridesmaid. My long time friend all the way back to elementary, Shannon, is getting married on the 23 of this month. And last but certainly not least Trevor and I's friend Briana will marry her long time BF in February of 2012. They are all very beautiful girls and I am sure all of their weddings will be wonderful and unique, each customized to their own personalities.

With all that being said, looking at wedding stuff is perfectly appropriate because I am playing crucial rolls in two of these in the next year and a half. I take my job in weddings very seriously. See picture below...

Marina and J.C.'s wedding-March 2010.
Seriously, don't mess with me and weddings.

So from time to time I will share photos and ideas on here. I hope you  tolerate enjoy my little wedding addiction. Maybe I can help inspire you, or just give you some pretty pictures to look at. Whatever works.
